Collection: Indigenous EUROPEAN cloaks - March 2020

Solo Exhibition. Exploration of the relationship of feather cloaks in Nordic and European history. Cloaks have been made from feathers in ancient Norse and ancient Europe since before the 1st century AD. This exhibition explored the colours, dying, and meaning behind white European heritage with cloaks and feathers in a traditional way relating back to anthropological indigenous European affiliation. It was common to use local bird feathers for each type of cloak and the druids used cloaks of colour to differentiate hierarchy.
